Howard, here in the Dallas area we are fortunate to be surrounded by good paddling lakes. Best way to hook up with other touring kayakers around Dallas is through the DFW Paddlers Yahoo group. You can find a paddling day trip almost every weekend, and weekend trips about once a month.
