Lake Michigan Crossing
Posted by CLC on Aug 15, 2005
Kayak For a Cure is raising money for the American Cancer Society by paddling nonstop 80 miles across Lake Michigan from Milwaukee to Muskegon.
They're starting the crossing within a few hours, and almost-live tracking is available on their website (see link below the photo). Seven of the nine boats are West River 18 kits donated by Chesapeake Light Craft and built by the Kayak For a Cure team.
It's a long, rough crossing and this ought to be a real adventure for those of us in office cubes to follow over the next 15-20 hours, so check in often and consider joining CLC in making a donation to this worthy cause.
