Well duh

Sometimes it takes me a while to figure out the obvious. The deck on the CLC boats is plywood forced into shape over the deck braces bulkheads etc.. The hatches are cut AFTER the deck is secured to the hull, spacers and hatch lip can be clamped to the deck no problem. The stripper hatches are cut from the semi-flexy deck BEFORE it is attatched and the fiberglass hatch lip is formed on the underside of the still flexy deck. Stiff Okuome hatch spacers and lips could cause some deflection of the deck before it is secured. That's why Kurt recommended the more flexible door skins. Did I get right this time? Hunh hunh, did I, did I? RogerJ
