UV wax??

Seriously now, since I should wait a while to paint and I'm going to be paddling in the summer sun...my question is: was John Foster serious that I should apply a Uv sunblock to the boat? How about a coat of the 3M wax with Uv block in it or would this be way to difficult to remove before the paint process in a month+ or so? Or am I just being too paranoid about the sun and just paddle away?
