congrats on the hull glassing,it's a big task but not as hard as other stuff. re. sheer,,kayaks aren't exactly 100lb dinghies with 3/4" thick outwales covered in rope or rubber bumping away all day. They're kayaks so that when you get out of the water,,the kayak comes with you. But if you really wish to let your kayak bump up against concrete as a regular practice then whatever you put on will require regular repair whether it's thicker glass, a strip of wood or epoxied rope. Methinks that you'll discover other areas on your kayak wearing through to the wood if tying up to concrete is a regular practice as opposed to occasional bumping while getting in/out.
