Glass on the inside
Posted by Mike D on Jul 17, 2005
From what I have read on this forum geting the glass put on the inside of the hull (WR18)is a whole different ball game from simply draping glass cloth over the up-side-down hull and wetting it out.
Right now the plan is to cut the cloth to length and width then position the hull up on one side with the edge of the loosely rolled cloth against the bottom of the shear clamp. Then unroll and wet out the cloth while moving the boat to keep the working surface horizontal. So far, so good. What needs help is what to do if (more like when) the finishing edge comes out a little long and needs to be trimmed. Not to mention where the cloth is supposed to meet the bulkheads.
Any help from some of you experienced builders out there would be greatly appreciated.
