Okay, CLC, I'll ask...
Posted by Crystal on Jul 5, 2005
After my Zen dvd, and CLC article reading, and online studying, I was ready to go to work on my Hawk, armed with way too much research....lol...
So one of my first questions is: Why no scarf joints? It's the step I'm on now so I thought I'd ask, just for kicks...I dont mind the extra steps.
By the way so far I love how tough this kayak seems to be put together!
Although, your crazy pattern on page 29 for cutting 8 pieces out of 48" wide glass is a challange that takes way too long...I got lucky and it worked. How many people building the Hawk run out of either 4oz or 2oz glass? I think I'm okay so far...
One other thing happend to me, under the logo on the panel where you sign your name, I put my name and my childrens hand print outline, which is very cool, but it did slightly pull a double shadow after the glass was on, still looks okay though. ( my guess is I pulled the glass to one side some when I was moving the epoxy with the spreader) I'm sure this is the first on many interesting things I will come across. So far so good,....
