I hate to answer a question with a question, but as someone who has just had to sand an entire fill coat off of a CH16 because it didn't adhere, the answer is "How much do you want to risk by having the old epoxy not set up / not adhere / look bad, or have something else go wrong?"
If you don't mind fixing screw ups, use the old stuff.
If you have the means to replace the old stuff, I'd ditch it and use new stuff. Then you know if something goes wrong, it's your fault, not the epoxy.
