John,

Bulkheads should be a LOOSE fit ,so as to avoid the "STARVED DOG " look (ribs showing), on the finished hull.

In other words,if the BH is too tight,the pressure will telegraph through the side and bottom panels.

Generally ,You will only notice this when the final gloss coats go on.Then its too late.

I leave a 1/8"-3/16" gap all round the bulkhead,looslly wire it in position, then fillet it,obviously on both sides.

There's more than enough strength in your filleting mixture to do the gap filling and glueing.

You'll end up with a nice Fair hull ,no ribs showing!
