Having your two year old re-tell YOU a story from the regular bed-time book that's been told a dozen times by you is a mind blower. That's an epiphany like no other. Are you talking about a football of 6oz or doubled 6oz over the whole hull? On the Merganswer17W I'm making I did the interior hull panels with 4oz s-glass doubled 2" at the bulkheads then 3.25oz tightweave over the middle 2/3 of the hull.
