Re: Kayaking in Acadia?

Great, sounds like bringing the boat will be worthwhile. I'm going to go get myself all the apropriate nautical and tide charts. I'm also reading Deep Trouble, that kayak safety book folks post about on here every so often. Good book so far! Lots of good info. So it sounds like there are plenty of places to launch and paddle, my main concern now is safety. My girlfriend and I have been paddling for a few years now, leisurely. Here on Long Island we've gone out in some choppy conditions in summer and are both really comfortable in a kayak, but I don't want to push our limits, since we really haven't properly practiced braces or rescues.
