hatches leak on capsize
Posted by Mischa on Jun 13, 2005
Hi,
I built a Chesapeake last summer and only got to take it out once and now its gotten warm enough and its time to log some real mileage!
However, last year I realized a problem: when I capsized the boat and affected a self rescue, the hatches leaked significantly. Not sure how much water the hatches took in, but it was enough that it seriously lowered the boat in the water thus effecting the handling, and had to be pumped out when I got ashore.
Any one else have this problem; any remedies?
Thanks again, Mischa
