If you have resin imbedded into the wood sans hardener, one technique is to add epoxy over top of this area, try mixing in a tiny bit more hardener. Apply the epoxy overtop of the resin-soaked wood and it should cure just fine. If it doesn't, you will know when you sand it off because the cured epoxy will break off BUT it will extract more of the resin out of the wood.
