The dryer likely played a role. I forget the exact physics of it, but there's something about dust particles in air that helps water moisture to collect together into droplets. If you took a bunch of dust and released it into a cloud, you could make it rain. The little dust and lint particles that were coming from the dryer could have helped "dew" form on the surface of the boat. Again, I forget the exact physics of it, but if I'm remembering correctly I think that this is the case.
