You can buy these at most any fabric store. They should also carry cutting mats; a semi-rigid mat which is "self-healing" to a sharp blade. Since they don't get all chopped up from cutting they remain smooth and flat cut after cut. They'll also save the blade better than cutting into a hard board under the fabric.
