Sounds about right, I saw the same thing on my CH 18 when I was building it. Sure enough, the deck lays out nicely, and contacts the deckbeam and bulkhead easily enough. As your deck tapers forward, the crown will also flow downward just a bit, then rise up a bit as the shape of the sheer edge of the side panels rises. It gives a nice elegant curvature to the deck.
