I am underemployed as of Thursday, Mac. Oh wait, I was under employed for 21 years, now it's unemployed. Hee! Hee!
I have hated working night shift for years but my debt load kept me tied to the grist mill. My severence pay will cover the major debts (all 'cept mortgage) and I am prepping to renovate houses and the like for a living. I do excellent reno work, better than many professional types so I am not worried about earning a reasonable income. If I end up in another lab, possible since I just got a call for an interview, well, then I stay in the 9-5 slog but dayum! there ain't NEVER gonna be another night shift in my life again unless its an all night paddle.
I know it seems weird to hear that someone is happy about a layoff but then again, we're talking about ole (figurative speech please) Rob here now. I'm hoping to have a couple of weeks off, do a weekend paddle trip, then get started on whatever form work takes.
