Pram daggerboard Q

Boat progressing well. To the point now that I have to decide if I am going to cut through the hull for the daggerboard or not. I would like to sail this boat at some point (possibly haul it to York, Maine in August) but an nervous about the leak possibility through the trunk and getting the cut right.

Could one sail the boat decently WITHOUT the daggerboard. Laugh if you will, my only sail experience was Hobiecat catamarans years ago...

TIA for any advice...

BTW, I would love to see CLC make a Pocket Cruiser kit, I would plop down some coin for that!
