I work for W. L. Gore and Associates Inc. We are the makers of Gore-Tex fabric. We were the first manufacturers of waterproof breathable fabrics. There are now many imitators on the market, but we have the edge in experience and technology. I am a mechanical engineer and at one time I used to design the equipment to test our materials against our competitors. None came close, they were either not waterproof, or did not breath. I�m not sure what�s out there for kayakers from Gore, but we do make the over-water flight suits and survival suits for the military and commercial fishing industry, so we�ve got the experience.
