Re: deck beam

With all due respect, I say leaving deck beams out is not a great idea. If all you are going to do is paddle on flat water and never have to do a re-entry after capsizing, go ahead and leave them out. Since I use my boat in rough conditions, I even put an extra deck beam in the rear, one on either side of the rear hatch.
