Susan, I use it to secure the bow when the boat is on the trailer as well. You just need to be sure to file, sand, and shape the tub exits so there are no sharp edges to wear away at a tow line.

I love the Skerry. It does everything I want a sailboat to do. It is not the right boat for everyone (namely people who want bleeding edge performance) but several people are very happy with its easy-to-sail or row beach cruiser personallity.
