yep,,you don't need to use a long continuous piece of 3" tape from hole to hole. It's a waste of glass and epoxy. If there's 6oz glass on the inside and outside it's sufficient with the hole well sealed. I figure it's not that much more work to slather another little piece of 6oz over the hole but it's not critical compared to sealing the hole.
