Seattle Fabrics.....

has some great fabrics. They have a wide variety of coated fabrics of different weights, strengths and resistances to abrasion. They have a dry bag fabric you can seal with an iron. You can make great brightly colored dry bags of any size and shape you want.

You can make a ring of plywood or high density plastic to fit against your hatch cutoput lip and glue/silacon/seal the fabric between two hard layers.

Silacon saturated nylons can be glued with regular construction silacon after sewing or even without sewing. You can make light weight packs for 15-25 pounds of gear just by gluing the cloth to itself. They are not very abrasion resistant tho.
