The bottom is a graphite/epoxy, I mixed 25% by volume powdered graphite to 75% epoxy, rolled on two coats, and left the shiny finish. I came up the side where I thought the water line would be, about an inch below the sheer pannel at the middle of the boat. You can get the graphite from Raka or West Systems. Besides protecting the bottom it saves a substantial amount of varnishing/sanding time. If you want to know anything more send me an email and I'll answer any questions you have.
