Re: varnish - how long

I haven't varnished blushing epoxy since I was young (late Jurassic). Anyhow, I do recall we would leave the unpainted boats out in the sun for a several weeks. Even then the varnish would occassionally fail in spots, in which case we'd scrape off the bad spots, scrub with lacquer thinner and let it sun-cure some more.
If you've used a fast or even medium hardener, I would sun-cure it a good while then wash the entire boat with lacquer thinner - nasty stuff, do it out side with your respirator and wear old cloths, otherwise you'll smell like a nail salon.
