Bow reinforcement?
Posted by Mislav on Apr 26, 2005
Hi. I just started to build Oxford Shell from CLC plans and I intend to install a small bitt or eyebolt on the front deck at the bow so that I can tie the shell in case of emergency towing. What can you tell me about the strength of this area? Do I need any special reinforcement? Any extra fiberglass tape around bow? I thought about installing small 20 mm ply or hardwood reinforcement plate under the deck to hold the bolts. Can I safely screw this plate to sheer clamps?
