Marine window

I'm finishing a MC 16.5 and saw a plan to install a plexyglass window in the bottom of the cockpit. My kids (9,8 & 6) thought that would be a great idea. Before I carve into my cockpit floor, I thought I'd ask if anyone installed one and did it ever leak?
