Go with what Steve says. All those C-clamps are are for things like the shear clamp and combing. Scarf joints are pretty simple because you just need to lay on the epoxy glue and hold the pieces together until the epoxy cures. Steve says to use a couple of pieces of wood and a couple C-clamps to hold the whole thing together with moderate pressure, which is just fine. I layed the pieces on the floor and applied pressure with a bucket of sand. Whatever works to keep the pieces aligned while applying uniform, moderate pressure will work for scarf joints. --- Happy building, then happy paddling!
