The inside of the cockpit is a harsher environment than what the deck receives, for example. You've got to protect that epoxy from the UV - and it'll get real hot in there in the sun. Is say varnish for neatness and simpicity - but get a bunch of coats in there. It doesn't have to be perfect, and it's a small area.
