I have pinned the battons to a flat surface (workbench). On top of these battons I have laid the hatch covers (flush I hope). Rather than use clamps, I have used scrap strips, placed over ply and screwed these into the workbench. These strips seem to have done a good job in bending the hatch cover to the contours of the battons (no warping).

Epoxy is curing now. I shall let you know tomorrow whether this works.
