Brightside sun exposure

About to finish up my canoe (this is month 20 since I started) and will be keeping it outside. I curious if I should buy a tarp to put over it as I wouldn't want the sunlight to fade the paint I put on the hull (Interlux Brightside Fire Red) but I'm not sure if thats needed or not.
