Yeah, Jim, I'm with the others on this. That heat gun could do some damage that you might not anticipate. I'm thinking not only of scorching, but of the laminating glue within the plywood.
Most of my boats have something crooked here and there. No one much notices, and I even forget about the defects over time. Being lazy, I don't try to correct them unless it's critical for safety or performance.
Heck, parts of my old bod are crooked and uneven, why can't my boats be also?
