Toothpicks
Posted by Matt Croce on Mar 29, 2005
I just pulled all of the wires out of my boat after tabbing it. I really wanted to fill in the holes, but wasn't up for using epoxy/wood flour filler to do it, so I tried the toothpick suggestion that someone made a few threads ago. It looks great, and there's no epoxy required -- cut a round toothpick in half, stick the pointy end into the hole (from the outside of the hull), give it a whack with a small hammer, trim it flush, and sand a little, and the holes literally disappear. On the inside, there isn't really any trimming required, because the toothpick end will be covered by the fillets once I complete them.
Thanks for the tip!
Matt
