Re: Deck Glass/Hull overl

Mike, this fellow varnished OVER the drips. Quite organic looking. One of the advantages to the tape and cut method is that it can significantly reduce the amount of glass/epoxy needing sanding. If the masking tape is about 3/16" below the roundover then a sharp utility knife can cut at a shallow angle making a fairing cut. Thereafter a curved scraper will do most of the fairing before final fill coats are put on. The wrapped over glass isn't needed structually with most of it's utility on the deck and rounded sheer. Adding a 1 1/2" strip of 4oz+6oz glass is quite tough but there are other places 35'x1" worth of 4oz fiberglass can make a difference.
