Back in the early days of stitch and glue, some people apparently dabbed the end of a toothpick in glue, and stuck that in the hole. When it cured it was sanded flush. Myself? I got so unmotivated as to use bronze staples in a pneumatic staple gun (had a bunch left over from cold-molding) to attach the last deck I put on a kayak. Man that was fast: thunk, thunk, thunk,... done. Being soft (and pretty in a way) they can even be sanded and planed right through. Scot
