Thanks again for all of the replies. I have a Thule rack with a couple of cradles for the boats. Sounds like it shouldn't be a problem as long as I tie them down well and don't drive in to anything. I'll be sure to post a picture of the boats (perhaps on top of the car) before I leave for Seattle.
