I have seen these folks listed as the shipper on several eBay kayak auctions. Apparently they specialize in transporting odd bits, motorcycles, boats, etc.

I have not personally used them but did look at their website when I sold my plastic boat on eBay.

I like others here have car-topped boats up and down the east coast with nothing worse than spattered bugs to contend with.
