On my CH16, I filled the seams using a peanut butter mixture and a putty knife. Force the epoxy mix into the visible gaps and blend to the tight joints. No need to do anything beyond that.
The primary reason for filling the exterior joint gaps is to minimize trapped air bubbles under the fiberglass.
