stern line fairing

After stitching up my first boat, a CH17, everything was going together great and straight as an arrow. However, when sighting down the seam between the two boards making the side of the hull, I notice a slight flare out between 12 and 14 inches from the end. It is symmentrical on both sides, but it still bothers me because when I sight the line from the stern, it is slightly concave, then convex, then concave again. This happens where the seam changes from mostly vertical to a strong diagnal. Is this normal? Thank you for your help.
