Those eight hours could be spent going a long way toward building a CH14, right alongside your kids. I'll bet you could get the hull stitched together, be on your way to gluing and taping the seams, maybe planing the inwale to accept the deck. If you're unsure of yourself, get CLC's videotape. It's very very easy, and incredibly rewarding. And your kids will love working with you on THEIR very own boat.
