Pity, Kurt, that those Texas home centers don't stock the carbide scrapers. They're very popular up hear, and not just for boat builders: I've seen several house painters using them, as well as a floor refinisher I know. I just finished restoring the antique plaster walls in my living room and used mine a lot on that job. Beats the heck out of sanding or using drywall screen.

Well, I suppose you could move up north, if you want easy access to scrapers.
