conditioning

I wonder if you are of that small subset of paddlers who are able to use racing technique with leg pumping. I've got a Kirton racing shell where the seat is a little thing sitting about 2 1/2" off the bottom. I don't use it as it's a friends,,and my technique doesn't originate from movement in the hips as much as the lower back but I can understand what you're describing. It's a little like getting comfortable with drop bars on a road bike. Unless you use that technique/posture it makes for a tippy kayak.
