Hi Stephan you should know that a 4 mm sheet of 1088 okumeh weighs in at 12 pounds while the 6 mm weighs 20 if you don't mind your CH16 ending somewhere between 55-60 pounds (instead 0f the 42-45 range) go for it. as a heavy duty do-it-all type boat, maybe it could work. I for one would look to save those 15 extra pounds. cheers Ety
