CH16 hull thickness
Posted by Stephan Bradley on Feb 5, 2005
Hi gang,
It started snowing in MT this morning, so I headed down to the shop to start a Chesapeake 16. I have a pile of BS1088 in 6mm and 9mm, so I thought that I was all set.
The plans call for 4mm in the hull, but since I have the 6mm on hand, I thought it would not be a problem.
Has anyone tried this? It is only 2mm, but also a 50% increase!! I know there will be a small weight penalty and the curves are simple, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Should I stretch it out (add 1" to station spacing)?
Thanks, Stephan
