Re: Copper sutures

When I stitched my Ches-16 together, I read various postings to this site about heating and pulling the copper wires out. It still seems a lot of trouble to little effect. I would say, just clip the wires off (with fingernail clippers), sand smooth, and continue with fiberglassing. I painted my hull (with clear deck) so the wire stitching does not show anyway. Even with clear finish, I say it will look just fine. Good luck, happy building, happy paddling!
