FrankP,,you may have started something. With the one piece deck and relatively straight sheer line on the CLC kayaks (to keep foredeck from folding ala Arctic Hawk) the compromise between designing for a particular displacement/freeboard impacts shin clearing/leg room. By removing the equivalent of 3/4" of freeboard a person can have a WR18 or LT17 that has nearly the same entry/exit clearance as a larger kayak. The kayak this REALLY would make a difference is a Northbay sized kayak or a WR18 for a longer legged person. Or those folks who aren't that flexible.
