PITA translated = discomfort in the backside as in "pain in the XXX".

Terry's recommendation for injecting epoxy is a good one. My only offering would be to make two small holes diametrically opposed in each bubble. Then you can use the syringe to fill in one hole while trapped air escapes through the other.
