Sorry for the empty posting. Sleepy this morning.

Anyhow, I moved the aft bulkhead 3" back in five boats I've built. I do this for more convenient storage that I can reach without a lot of reaching and twisting.

The deck under the back of the coaming is still plenty stiff. To be safe, I added a strip of 4mm in an arc under the deck. Glass tape here would work also.

The drawback of this approach, obviously, is cockpit volume, in that you'll take on more flood water and it will be a bit harder to empty. But for my wife and I, the trade off is worth it.
