Re: Bulkhead Hatch

I have no experience with them except attempting to screw/unscrew a 4" beckson in a front bulkhead of the original Northbay. I do have experience packing kayaks with bulkheads/hatches and no bullkheads/hatches. Screw in Beckson hatches don't belong where there's any chance of sand getting in the threads. I don't understand the appeal except as a means to retain a no hatches deck and drying out the compartment, once you try and put things through the cockpit where things can get caught behind the ring bulkhead, especially a front one, the option of no bulkhead or through deck hatches makes sense.
