Use epoxy/graphite powder
Posted by Robert N Pruden on Dec 14, 2004
If you are not worried about looks then you should consider using serveral thin layers of epoxy mixed with graphite powder to minimize damage to the bottom of your hull. The graphite powder basically lubricates the hull from abrasive forces. It won't prevent them, just reduce the damage. You won't even be able to avoid scratches or gouges so make a move to reduce the damage done by them.
